The job:
The Cellular Immunology group at the Biotechnology Institute Thurgau is looking for a cell
biologist/immunologist to work on projects investigating the immunological synapse. The
position involves working on on-going projects focused on a)
understanding the dendritic cell side of the immunological synapse or b) investigating the
role of cell tension in T cell activation. The position is funded by a project grant and is for
two years without possibility of extension. Start date is flexible but not later than the 1st of
August.
The profile we are looking for:
We are looking for a scientist with experience in cell biology and immunology. A strong
experience in culture and handling of primary cells and cell lines is mandatory. The ideal
candidate will have experience in primary immune cell isolation, fluorescence microscopy
flow cytometry and viral transduction.
The position further involves a keen interest in understanding how membrane organisation
and mechanotransduction regulate T cell activation by dendritic cells. Candidates holding
an MSc, or a PhD can apply.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: only applicants entitled to work in the Schengen area (nationals or
